Our Values and Ethos
At Leighterton Primary, we strongly believe that learning is for life. In order to support children’s developing life skills and future learning, we provide a wealth of opportunities – inside and outside of the classroom – for our children to become independent and resilient learners. They are constantly encouraged to reflect on their own learning and we provide guidance and support for those next steps.
English and Maths are taught daily and the skills developed within these areas are integral to everything we aim to achieve – children apply them in all aspects of learning. All other areas of learning identified in the National Curriculum have a regular place in the timetable and pupils are interested and engaged across all subject areas within a positive learning climate. A wide range of ICT resources, including Ipads are on offer to children to further enhance and support development across the curriculum. A child’s education is a partnership between school and home and we aim to involve parents in all aspects of their children’s learning.
