Safeguarding

Everyone in Leighterton Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all of our children. We have a responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of all children in our care.  The Athelstan Trust has  Child Protection Policy which provides clear direction concerning child protection issues and makes explicit this school’s commitment to the development of good practice and procedures.  This can be a sensitive area and is always dealt with professionally in ways which support the needs of the child.

Should you wish to join our team as a member of staff or volunteers, there are safeguarding checks that are required before you are able to join us. More information is available on the school’s Safeguarding Noticeboard or from the school office.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Jane Rushton (head@leighterton.gloucs.sch.uk)

Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leaders are:

Mrs Gemma Holian (Assistant Headteacher)

Mrs Hazel Laver (Class teacher)

Our Safeguarding governor is Mrs Katy Grimston

Please contact the school (01666 8909273) to talk to one of our safeguarding leads.
