We are delighted to share with you the Ofsted report from our most recent inspection. Our glowing report reflects the many strengths of our school.
According to Ofsted, ‘Pupils love their school. They, along with their parents and carers, value the strong sense of community that exists’. As staff and governors, ensuring that our ethos is inclusive and welcoming, whilst at the same time being academically rigorous, is at the heart of what we aim to do.
This was our first inspection under the new Ofsted Framework, where schools receive a report card of results. We are pleased to share that our very positive report is green across every category. In particular, Achievement, and Attendance and Behaviour, both received a ‘strong’ judgement. All other areas have met the high bar of the ‘expected’ standard.
Here are a few of the lovely highlights from the report:
‘Pupils achieve well, Outcomes in the phonics screening check, multiplication tables check and end of key stage 2 national tests are all above national averages.’
‘Pupils behaviour is impressive. They have a genuine love for learning and enjoy lessons.’
‘Pupils behaviour in lessons is a strength. They are attentive and listen carefully. At social times, pupils are respectful and considerate of others.’
‘Pupils flourish as the individuals they are.’
‘The school lives and breathes its ‘oak’ values of ‘optimism, ambition and kindness’ in every aspect of school life.’
‘The work pupils produce reflects how their learning builds over time and the progress they make…staff are adept at identifying any gaps pupils may have in their reading, writing and mathematical skills. These gaps close quickly through thoughtful intervention and support.’
‘Leaders have implemented a successful strategy to support pupils’ excellent behaviour. The school values underpin this.’
‘Teaching is thoughtful and designed to capture pupils’ imagination.’
‘The teaching of reading and phonics is clear and well established from the early years onwards.’
‘As a result of effective teaching, children achieve well in the early years and enjoy learning.’
‘Leaders have created an inclusive culture where all pupils feel valued, safe and able to participate fully in school life.’
‘Leaders, including governors, have a very clear understanding of the strengths of the school…Their actions have a demonstrable and positive impact.’
